P.E Info

JRJ P.E. kit is plain white t-shirt and plain black shorts.  Plain red shorts may also be worn from the Infant School.  Most indoor work is undertaken in bare feet,
but plimsolls or lightweight trainers are required for outdoor P.E.

Plain black tracksuit bottoms and tops (no hoods) should be in school for outdoor use in cooler weather.  Jewellery must not be worn - if earrings cannot be removed,
they should be covered by tape brought from home.  The school is not able to provide tape.

It is essential that all items of P.E. kit are clearly named in order that it can be returned if lost.

P.E. Information Celebration Assemblies

As part of our ongoing commitment to promoting sport through John Ray Junior School, we continue to encourage children belonging to sports clubs and teams out of school to share their experiences with others.  This may be done via our Monday celebration assemblies, where certificates and trophies may be shown, or through the club links section of the PE notice board in the school hall.

Football Boots/Shin Pads

Do you have any unwanted football boots or shin pads at home?  Instead of throwing them away, we would be ever so grateful for any donations.

The P.E Cup and Shield

Each week in Monday’s celebration assembly, the P.E. Cup and Shield are awarded to the class in the Upper School and Lower School who scored the most P.E. points during the previous week.  These points are awarded, amongst other things, for P.E. kit, effort and achievement in lessons.

Visiting Teams Getting to -: JRJS

John Ray Junior School is situated on Notley Road, between John Ray Infants and Notley High School.  The entrance to our school is just past the Masefield Road
junction.  For satellite navigation users, our postcode is CM7 1HL.  Please note that our school car-park is very busy and it may not be possible for visiting
teams to find a space at the end of the school day.  Football: Our home colours are red and black/black/red. Google

In fixtures where the Respect Zone barrier is operational, we ask that parents and other visitors remain in the designated places.  The area within the
