PE Multiskills success for Year 3 & 4 Pupils |

Having been impressed with the way in which we were represented at the PE Multiskills event at Notley High School earlier this month, we were just as pleased to learn last week how well our squad performed. Ethan Carter scored the highest total boys score, with Matthew Stevens in second place and Harry Dowsett in fourth. Tommy Cahill and Ryan Convoy also both scored in the top eight, followed closely by Aaron Willett, who despite only being in Year 3, scored higher than many of his Year 4 counterparts - a most promising start! In the girls' section, Katie Archer finished in joint first position, with Glory Alidu and Amy Hammond just points behind. Georgia Tegg, Jenny Summerton and Abbie Sutton (also in Year 3!) all scored in the top ten. Very well done to all involved!

FURTHER SUCCESS FOR JRJ IN MULTISKILLS The JRJ Multiskills squad continued their good progress in Phase 2 of the 2009/10 competition at Braintree College. Rowan Wallace and Megan Myers both scored top ten finishes and will go on to represent the school and indeed the Notley family schools in Phase 3 next month. Esther Ayisire and Taylor Barnard both also represented the school well and are to be congratulated on having reached Phase 2. They, along with the rest of the squad, were presented with certificates during assembly last week. THANKS FROM TESCO AND LOCAL MP
Fern Pavitt and Valerij Maksimuk (4M) visited Tesco with Mr Marshall where they met Mr Brooks Newmark MP and staff from the store. They brought with them back to school a certificate and some P.E. equipment in recognition of all the Tesco Sports for Schools and Clubs vouchers collected by pupils, families, staff and friends at John Ray Juniors. We were able to put the vouchers towards some brand new gymnastics stools as well as some dance resources which Mrs Meredith is especially looking forward to using. Many thanks to everyone who contributed towards our grand total. |

On 17th October Toby Hyde 6C and myself Alisha Long 6K were chosen to represent the school to collect our Healthy Schools Partnership Award. We travelled by car with Miss Pack and Mr Marshall to the Shire Hall in Chelmsford. It was very exciting and the Mayor of Chelmsford was there. First we watched some performances of dance, drama and singing and then we were called up to collect our award which is a plaque with the Healthy School logo, the name of the school and the date of the award. We then had our photograph taken and had refreshments before returning to school. – by Alisha Long (6K) |
